You Can Pay Home Care With Veteran Benefits 

Veteran Benefits help veterans and their surviving spouses pay for the costs of home care with substantial financial assistance.  However, 70% of senior veterans and their loved ones are not aware of VA benefits that could be used to pay for home care. 

Therefore, we built this webpage to help you figure out how you can use veterans benefits to pay for home care.  We want to make sure all of our nation's heroes know and be able to access the support they deserve and need

WHAT IS THE FULL NAME OF THE VETERAN BENEFITS THAT CAN PAY FOR HOME CARE?

  • The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Aid & Attendance Pension Benefit​.

Note: we will use Aid & Attendance to refer to this type of benefits in the following sections.

WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR USING VETERANS BENEFITS TO PAY FOR HOME CARE?  

  • Honorably discharged veterans who have served in active duty for at least ninety (90) days in one of the armed forces: Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force or the Coast Guard. If the veteran was in the Reserves, he/she will not qualify

  • The surviving spouses of qualified veterans that are 65 or older 

WHAT ELIGIBILITY FACTORS DOES A VETERAN NEED TO USE VETERANS BENEFITS TO PAY FOR HOME CARE? 

  • Service during wartime

  • An honorable discharge

  • A monthly income and assets below the limits according to the VA criteria

  • A medical document prescribing the needs for daily help
